**WHAT WILL THE ROLE INVOLE?**

As Skills Team Leader, you will lead a team of multi-functional staff, within the operational, skills and training team. Your role will include leading, motivating and supporting the team in line with our organisational priorities. You will drive high levels of customer service and quality standards, encouraging and supporting the team within their roles, whilst working collaboratively, with other departments and our partners. You will identify gaps or opportunities within training to meet the needs of clients for all stages of the employability pipeline.

**Main Aims & Duties**:

- Lead the Skills and Training function by motivating and delegating workload to ensure the team work collaboratively to deliver excellent training and services to our customers.
- To provide effective leadership to the team, conducting regular 1-1s, appraisals and develop performance development plans as appropriate to facilitate achievement of targets and objectives.
- To design and deliver a range of group training sessions/sector routeways with a particular focus on bespoke activity to meet employer and client needs and deliver an excellent customer experience.
- To lead and effectively manage the planning, monitoring, reviewing and, if appropriate, contribute to the delivery of training programmes within RTWS. Ensure that staff in the team can design, develop, and deliver training programmes to meet identified requirements.
- Keep up to date of changes in law, policy, learning and development practice, including assessment and delivery methodologies. Regularly review learning and development strategies and lead on implementation of necessary changes where required. Ensure compliance with legal, national, stakeholder and organisational requirements.
- Engage with internal and external key stakeholders to ensure that needs and priorities are identified and can be incorporated into operational delivery.
- To attend meetings and events to promote and represent the company and service offer.
- To build strong relationships with clients, employers, stakeholders, and partners.
- Keep up to date with developments in the sector, making recommendations for improvements, participating in standardisation and CPD sessions.
- Contribute to and oversee the development of new training material; regularly review existing training material ensuring it remains relevant and meets the needs of our clients.
- Carry out other duties in line with organisational requirements.

Experienced in providing leadership to a multi-functional team

Experience working in partnership with statutory organisations, local authorities, and the 3rd Sector

Have experience of creating and developing strong teams and managing those with varying workloads and remit.

Knowledge of awarding body standards and accreditation

Understanding of the employability sector and training services

Knowledge of different government funding streams

Enthusiasm, self-motivated and passionate who possesses good time management skills

Flexibility and resourcefulness to manage the varying demands of the role.

Previous experience of performance monitoring and reporting

Committed to excellent customer service and continuous improvement

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to encourage, persuade and motivate

Pro-active and solution focused in response to a changing environment.

Flexible and willing to adapt to meet organisational needs where required.

Good IT skills with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook

Knowledge of health and safety and legislation

Full driving licence and own transport
