**Position : Toolroom Machinist**
**Sector : Manufacturing/Engineering**
**Location : Sheffield**
**Rate : £14.77 per hour (39 hours a week) = £29,953**
**Job Purpose**:
To provide tooling in order to support the manufacturing departments. Ensuring that all work procedures are adhered to in a safe manner and maintaining a high quality of work. Working towards set deadlines and targets in the most efficient and productive way.
**Main duties**:
- Produce and refurbish components / tooling to agreed specification.
- Work with other employees to ensure quality and standards are maintained at all times.
- Adhere to company’s good and safe working practices. Being able to identify potential hazards.
- Ensure your working area, stock items, tooling and equipment are organised and tidy at all times.
- Ensure work is produced efficiently and cost effectively, whilst also ensuring that all target dates for tooling requirements are met.
**About you**:
- Experience in setting and operating various manual machine tools, including centre lathes, milling machines and grinding machines.
- Ability to work to drawings, instructions or samples to ensure accurate production.
- Ability to inspect & measure dimensions and tolerances using instruments such as micrometers, bore gauges and calipers.
- Good team-working skills.
- Can work as part of a team and work independently.
