YOUR ROLE

Join our team in Mercia Park as a Driver Apprentice. You will gain both a Class 1 and Class 2 license alongside your driver CPC. You will also learn valuable life skills to help you with your future career within Transport and Logistics.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Whilst starting up as a driver, you will be paired up with a more experienced team member who will help you develop a further understanding of the job responsibilities and expectations. You will first complete your Class 2 license and work your way up to earning your Class 1 license.

You will work as part of the contract dedicated to customer deliveries and ensure goods are delivered to the correct locations with accurate completion of associated paperwork. You will also be responsible for ensuring daily vehicle checks are carried out and any defects are reported and remedied ensuring full compliance.

Due to this being a nighttime operation, your will start anywhere between 23:00 and 00:00, completing 9-10 hours per shift.

Once on boarded as a Class 2 Driver, you can expect to make up average 6 drops per shift with collections included. The contract is a multi-user contract, and the drops will cover a wide range of locations across the country.

You can expect to earn £25,000 however; this will increase to £28,000 when you have received your Class 2 license and a further increase upon passing your Class 1 License and completion of the apprenticeship.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Full UK Driving License
- No points on your license
- Grades C/4 or above in Math’s and English is desirable but not essential. If you do not current have the required grades, you’ll work towards acquiring these as part of your apprenticeship.
- Willingness to take on new challenges and develop
- Flexibility when it comes to shift work
