Kennel Assistant

The hours of work are 6pm-9pm and will include weekends. As the site is in a rural location with no bus/train services locally you will need to be able to drive. You must be comfortable with working alone.

Main area of the role will be the daily excercising of dogs and cleaning of kennels housing approximately 60/70 dogs. This includes shoveling excrement, mopping floors/walls etc, whilst ensuring high standards of hygiene are maintained.

You will be required to ensure the welfare of dogs is maintained through daily health checks, bathing and administering of any medication required. You will also be required to feed dogs and ensure they all have access to water throughout the day.

The role also involves some basic periodic maintenance on site for example painting and simple repairs.

You will need to have some degree of fitness as the role is physically demanding and includes some lifting (of dogs and large bags of feed). While no qualifications or previous experience are required prior experience within a similar role or qualification in animal welfare is an advantage.
