One of the World's largest Insurers has a new opening to join them in their SME Commercial Combined Underwriting division as a Portfolio Underwriter due to a targeted period of growth.

The SME division has grown by 50% in the last 2 years with plans to further increase that over the next 3 years. This is an excellent time to join the company as you will be able to be closely involved in current and future plans of the business.

As a Portfolio Underwriter you will work closely with Brokers and MGA partners managing a wide range of duties. You will be responsible for the management of scheme partners managing the relationship with Brokers and MGA's, dealing with technical referrals,carrying out audits and checks and ensuring each account is performing well.

You will work closely alongside a Senior Underwriter with a view to progressing further to that level in the long term. You will carry out training for internal staff and external partners ensuring a high level of technical expertise is achieved continuously.

You will forge strong relationships with Brokers and MGA's building on previous associations you may have had whilst always striving to develop new relationships.
You will be involved in various projects to continually look for new ways to improve the service and product offering. You will work closely with the Business Development Manager's as required to negotiate deals within underwriting authority.

To be considered you must have a proven level of underwriting experience within commercial lines of business within either an Insurer or MGA. Unfortunately Underwriters with motor or household experience will not be considered. You must be a strong negotiatorlooking for an opportunity to continually develop both personally and for the business.
