**The Opportunity**
We are delighted to be recruiting for a Technical Data Services Specialist (TDSS), reporting to the Technical Data Services Manager (TDS Manager) and working within the Customer Support and Training (CS&T) function of our helicopters division. The focus of the position is to support the delivery of rotorcraft aircrew and maintainer training through the effective management of technical and programme data within the Technical Data Service (TDS) team. The primary purpose of this role is to collect, collate, store and disseminate data associated with the UK Training Operations department’s development and delivery function. In addition to this, the role is to support the integration and acceptance test phases through assisting with the development and execution of form.
**_ What you’ll be doing as a Technical Data Services Specialist;_**
- Research, source, collate and transmit data packs that define the respective SL&SS products to the appropriate Suppliers supporting both proposal and on-contract system development
- Respond promptly to Supplier technical queries, including suitable liaison with other LH departments
- Track changes to the design baseline, with up-issues of the data pack to the Suppliers for relevant changes as required supporting their development process
- Utilise internal systems and manage internal resources to ensure that data, aircraft parts, and other supporting materials are available within agreed time scales
- Support data gathering activities; both on aircraft or using engineering rigs and act as a coordinator and escort for visitor
- Establish and maintain effective internal relationships with: SL&SS Technical Leads, SL&SS Development Group and Training Academy Instructors
**_ What we need from you;_**
- Educated as an aeronautical engineer to HNC level and served an Aeronautical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
- Computer Literate, ideally with previous experience of SAP
- Previous experience in operating within industry standard design practices and quality assurance processes
- Ideally general knowledge of helicopter training and operations - both military and civil
- An understanding of modern helicopter aircrew and maintainer training devices/systems
- Strong interpersonal and team working skills, as well as the ability to discuss at a technical level with the engineering, customer and supplier
- Ability to work unsupervised with initiative and integrity
