Milton Keynes

Our client is a specialist contractor within the construction industry, offering their services nationwide. They are a well-established company and due to substantial business growth, they are looking for a Business Development Manager to join them at theiroffice in Milton Keynes.

You will be working closely with and reporting to the company's Managing Director and will assist the senior management team in delivering sales within the commercial sector. Typical project values of £30,000 - £200,000.

As lead salesperson, you will have a plenty of opportunities for personal growth and development within their fast-growing business.

The package

Basic £35,000 - £40,000 per annum (based on experience) + uncapped commission, pension scheme, non-contributory private medical scheme.

How will our client help you to succeed?
- You will be provided with marketing qualified leads and an existing client base, however consistent focus on prospecting and new account development will be required to achieve your sales targets.
- You will be assisted by a team of four experienced Estimators / Surveyors, a Sales Administrator, two Marketing Executives and the Managing Director.
- You will be provided with full guidance and assistance required to develop your sector-specific knowledge and skills.
- You will attend industry specific training and achieve relevant qualifications.

Your Key Responsibilities as Business Development Manager:

- Research, prospect and identify new business opportunities.
- Develop client relationship. Set up and attend meetings with potential clients and decision makers to present services, pitch for immediate business and develop communications about future business opportunities.
- Identify and evaluate relevant construction tender opportunities. Plan approaches and tender replies. Develop proposals that address the client's needs, concerns, and objectives.
- Identify opportunities for marketing campaigns and new service areas that will lead to an increase in sales.
- Understand and enhance further the company's business case to continuously improve the company's performance, selling propositions and market differentiators.
- Keep abreast of changes in legislation and implement accordingly.
- Attend corporate events on behalf of the company.

What skills and experience are we looking for?
- A background in B2B sales with a proven track record in repeatedly hitting sales targets is essential.
- Knowledge or experience in the Construction industry is an advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and be an effective communicator, and must demonstrate excellent written, telephony and face to face communication skills.
- Highly self-motivated as the role will require working with a high degree of autonomy.
- You must have a full UK driving license.
