Aviation Security Supervisor

Accountable to the Security Station Manager at Teesside International Airport for the Aviation security operations, responsible for ensuring the day to day aerodrome security requirements are met and maintained to required standards as laid down in the AirportSecurity Procedures Manual and the National Aviation Security Programme.

**How you will make an impact as an Aviation Security Supervisor**:

- To provide supervisory cover for aircraft passenger and staff screening at multiple locations onsite.
- The provision of an effective departmental security presence and service delivery.
- To administer the provision of staff training in line with UK NASP and local requirements.
- The appearance, awareness, contact and performance of supervised security personnel.
- The departmental dissemination of information, intelligence and instructions to personnel.
- Dispatching security staff fully trained in dealing with Airfield/Site emergencies in accordance with laid down departmental operating procedures, providing command and control when required.
- Responsible for ensuring consistency of performance by reviewing, revising, implementing current practises/procedures.
- Utilising the recognised reporting procedures as required by the customer for all departmental records and systems.
- To continuously improve the standards and performance of the Security Team, with the support of the Station Manager in monitoring Security Agents to ensure compliance with all DfT and airport regulations, whilst ensuring the highest level of customer care.
- To take personal responsibility for ensuring that all operational procedures are delivered to agreed guidelines and legislation.
- To follow new DfT legislation that will assist the operation and enable Security Agents in meeting new legislative requirements.
- Ensure health and safety legislative requirements are met such as PPE requirements and health & safety awareness to ensure any slips, trips and falls are reported through the HSE reporting process.

Shift pattern: 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off.

**Essential Skills** **What you will bring to be an Aviation Security Supervisor**:

- A 5-year background check will be carried out on all employees and will need to provide a Criminal Record Check when requested.
- Right to Work in the UK
- Must have a full clean UK driving licence
- Previous experience working in an Aviation Security environment at a minimum of Senior Supervisory level
- Experience in directly managing a team
- Ground Security Operative (GSO) and Ground Security Supervisor (GSS) Training
- Formal / Informal Training for Assessment

**Desirable Skills**
- Relevant Aviation background is desirable
- UK/EU citizen or valid work permit
- Counter Terrorism Check (CTC)
- Experience in facilitating coaching and personal development in a multi-site commercial environment on an ongoing basis
- Ability to build relationships and fully engage with various management teams and external Control Authorities
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
