Devondale is proud to be part of the Independent Builders Merchant Group (IBMG). IBMG is the largest independent merchant group in the South of England operating through five core divisions (Builders Merchants, Timber, Plumbing & Heating, Roofing and Electrical), primarily serving trade customers with an extensive range of products. IBMG has over 170 branches extending from Penzance to Margate, generating revenues in excess of £650 million and are supported by over 2,200 colleagues.
Due to the continued success and expansion of our business, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Branch Assistant to join our team in Exeter, Sowton.
**The Role**
We are looking for a Branch Assistant in our **Exeter,** **Sowton** branch.
This position would be ideal for anyone who is currently or has recently worked in a similar sales environment ideally. In-house training for all computer and technical aspects of this role will be provided. Youll need to be able to deliver excellent customer service.
Build and maintain successful partnerships with customers, colleagues and suppliers and focus on the achievement of long-term customer loyalty.
Consistently generate profitable sales for the branch, via the telephone and at the trade counter by effectively using a range of techniques and resources
Manage customer queries in relation to invoices, orders or stock.
Understand the customer cycle by proactively targeting new customers and developing them into consistent live trading accounts.
Be flexible to carry out various tasks and activities to support the effective running of the branch including being in the stores, telesales and trade counter sales.
Utilising IT systems including Microsoft Office to support the customer experience.
Supporting in other areas of the branch as required.
**The Requirements**
- Experience of working within a trade counter.
- To be customer centric with a customer service/retail/store background.
- To demonstrate proactive sales via phone and face-to-face.
- To have had experience of working in a fast-paced role, whilst maintaining a consistent eye for detail.
- A flexible approach and an ability to work under pressure.
- An ability to recognise sales opportunities.
- An ability to embrace change and new technologies.
**The Hours**
Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00
