With a strong workload and exciting growth plans ahead, we are seeking a Senior / Principal Economist to join our team in Scotland. This is an opportunity to join a global multi-disciplinary consultancy with offices in the heart of both Glasgow and Edinburgh. We can offer you a great work environment and flexible working options.
Stantec's economists and economic development staff work across our main markets, supporting public and private infrastructure development ranging from commercial, retail & housing development; innovation centres; visitor attractions and public realm improvements. We support local & national government; developers, businesses and universities, clearly presenting the economic case for their investments.
We prepare future development strategies to guide development for our public and private clients - increasingly significant in the context of City and Growth Deals, and specific funding streams such as Levelling Up, Future High Streets and Towns Funding in England and regeneration funding streams in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. - Development Economics
Reporting to our Economics Lead in Scotland, you will play a key role in the team. You will be involved in managing and supervising junior staff as well as being involved in planning for growth and recruitment activities. You will build up client relationships, providing market leading advice and services. You will have project development responsibility and will work with other team members to develop their skills.
**ABOUT YOU**
We are looking for experienced project manager with a commercial background ideally gained in a consultancy environment and an ability to win work and forge client relationships.
You’ll have an economics, planning or related degree and strong experience in economic development/ strategy/ economic analysis. You’ll have a good understanding and experience of economic development and the planning system.
