**Contract Length**: Fixed term until January 2026
**Salary**: £24,000 per annum
**Working Hours**:Full time - 35 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
**Location**:The Pride Centre, Kirkby
**Direct Staff**: No direct staffing responsibilities
Our Family Connector roles work in partnership with _Northwood Cradle to Career_, as an initiative to bring together local residents and the community, along with professionals/leaders, to support and improve the lives of children and families.
**Job Purpose**:To work as part of the Cradle to Career team, in partnership with local services to ensure children and their families can access support that meets their needs, by connecting them within the community.
**Core Responsibilities**:
- Support and identify families (and children’s) dreams and aspirations for the Northwood community.
- Identify the community assets and services available that will help support local people.
- Help families to access support to relevant services, share information with the community, and build trust between professionals and the community.
- Identify local informal groups/associations, build relationships, and encourage collaboration.
- Capture local stories from learning sites and share findings with stakeholders in partnership with the community.
- Work in line with set contract targets - monitor and record all work to produce quality monthly reports.

**Person Specification - Essential**
**Experience**
- Experience of working with families / children.
- Ability to relate to families, support families and build strong relationships.
- Competent IT skills / ability to produce quality monthly reports and work autonomously.
- Experience of setting and maintaining appropriate boundaries with families.
**Personal Attributes**
- Flexible, adaptable and a good listener. Prioritise tasks, workload and good time management.
- An understanding of health, wellbeing and challenges that can be faced by different families.
- Team player with an open, honest manner and ability to build effective relationships.
- Work collaboratively with families, local communities, and professionals.
- Ability to ‘step back’, motivate and empower families to do for themselves.
- The ability to monitor and report case work & statistics and work to specific project targets.
**Person Specification - Desirable**
**Experience, Knowledge, and Skills**
- Experience of working with a caseload of people/families within set case parameters.
- Experience of safeguarding/promoting the welfare of children/vulnerable adults.
- Experience and understanding of ABCD, mental health, SEND, early years and social care services.
- Ability to drive/access a vehicle for work purposes.
