Maintenance/groundsman

ABC Day Nursery is seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team

As a Grounds Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of our outdoor spaces. This is a hands-on position that requires a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

**Duties**:

- Routine cleaning and upkeep of common areas and outdoor spaces.
- Ensuring that the property grounds are well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing.
- Conducting regular inspections to identify maintenance issues and promptly addressing them.
- Performing basic repairs and maintenance tasks such as painting and plumbing.
- Managing landscaping activities including mowing, trimming, and watering plants.
- Monitoring and maintaining equipment and tools used for maintenance and gardening tasks.
- Following health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for residents and visitors.

**Skills**:

- Strong knowledge of groundskeeping practices and techniques
- Ability to operate and maintain various power tools used in landscaping
- Proficient in using hand tools for repairs and maintenance
- Familiarity with irrigation systems and their maintenance
- Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills

Working hours:
8h a week

Monday-Friday after the Nursery closing times 18:00

Saturday & Sunday

Background checks, including Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and reference verification, will be conducted prior to the commencement of the role.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: £11.50 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week
