**Your new role**
Hays Senior Finance are delighted to be working exclusively with a client in Ashford, who is looking to recruit a technically strong, qualified accountant to control the financial ledgers of all companies within the group, together with the ledgers of associatedundertakings. You will have responsibility for the production and/or review of accurate and timely monthly management accounts (profit and loss, revenue and sales volumes, balance sheet) for examination by the CFO /Board. Additionally: preparation/review ofstatutory annual accounts for examination by the CFO; liaising with external auditors and tax accountants in all territories; assisting with detailed budget preparations and ad hoc costing projects.
- Full ownership of the integrity of data within financial ledgers
- Liaise with colleagues to ensure all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Preparation/review of monthly management accounts packs for all entities, to include profit and loss, revenue and sales volumes analysis, balance sheet and commentaries
- Preparation/review of the statutory annual accounts for each entity for examination by the CFO
- Processing and/or review of inter-company sales invoicing and reconciliation of all inter-company trading and loan account balances on a regular basis
- Calculation/review of monthly accruals, prepayments, and stock consumption adjustments
- Maintenance and review of fixed asset registers
- Review card settlement accounts for all currencies and ensure reconciled at each month end
- Payroll calculations (monthly UK payrolls) and submission to bureau
- Indirect & direct tax compliance
- Assist the CFO with treasury management
- Assist with detailed annual budget preparations
- Assist with ad hoc finance-related projects (cost analyses / pricing / business activity modelling)

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with experience in commerce & industry and of planning and dealing with external audit
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience of multi-company operations is beneficial
- Prior exposure to multi-currency is beneficial but not essential
- Technically strong, with excellent attention to detail
- Enthusiastic and positive mindset and prepared to fully engage in all aspects of the role, from basic data entry to complex revenue analysis or reconciliations
- Ability to prioritise own workload, use initiative and remain disciplined
- Exceptional organisational skills with ability to multi-task and work to deadlines whilst remaining flexible to adapt to changing priorities
- Good communication skills (spoken and written) - able to build strong relationships with colleagues
- Teamwork ability - displaying the ability to contribute strongly and confidently in all areas of running the business unit; build continuous understanding of the business and its future developments
- Tenacity - the ability to overcome obstacles whilst remaining both diplomatic but firm and resolute in achieving results and objectives
