An exciting vacancy has arisen within our Preston manufacturing site for a Transport Planner to join the team. Reporting directly to the Transportation Manager the main purpose of this role is to support the Transport Manager deliver all KPI & SLA requirements and delivering excellent customer service. You'll be part of a team of 3 Transport Planners, accurately planning the delivery of manufactured products across the UK with our own
- & third-party transport.

As a Transport Planner, you will:

- Act as an ambassador to BAXI in all your interactions internally or externally and ensure compliance with all company & DVSA legislative requirements and all internal quality, health, safety and environmental policies and standards.
- Plan routes and schedule drivers using Transport Planning tools to maximise efficiency, control costs and meet agreed SLA / KPIs.
- Manage external haulage levels to ensure that customer demand, collections and haulage recovery costs are balanced.
- Monitor daily activity and take corrective action to meet customer expectations while liaising with other departments such as Manufacturing, Sales, and spares.
- Call customers when deliveries / collections are late or need to be re-scheduled.
- Liaise and communicate with customers where necessary over issues and order updates.
- Execute plans, taking account of customer and environmental changes throughout the day using planning and monitoring tools including, but not specifically limited to, Paragon, Fleet Check, M3 & SNAP, and various transport tools, inclusive MS Excel etc.
- Actively manage performance and standards of drivers (internal/external) using system data, number of moves / vehicles, manage products delivered by category against load sheets & shipment criteria.
- Support the coordination of all vehicle maintenance activities in conjunction with the Transport Manager.
- Engage in continuous improvement and problem-solving exercises to develop a best practice approach for the Warehouse & Distribution Department in supporting the wider Baxi Business.
- Supporting and ensuring we are 100% compliant in everything we do.
- Creating and maintain live
- Transport availability & Utilisation dashboards
- Production of Transport KPI’s (OTIF, lead time etc..) for performance management purposes.
- Adapt C.I approach to ensure transport control processes are optimal

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

- CPC National & international qualified.
- CILT / ILM certificate or Diploma in Logistics
- Previous HGV logistics / transport planning experience is essential.
- Good understanding of routing across the UK.
- Experience of Transport Planning in HGV FMCG Distribution or Manufacturing environment
- Demonstrable organisation skills.
- Customer facing experience and the ability to build strong relationships.
- Strong communication skills and high attention to detail
- Good customer service and people skills - able to build relationships with the driver and sales teams. With evidence of improving customer net promotor scores.
- Able to think and act with a commercially orientated mind set.
- Positive attitude to supporting other departments and team members.
