Our Housing Solutions Service is seeking a Housing Caseworker, experienced in housing advice, homelessness casework, and safeguarding with a strong interest in helping people escaping domestic abuse.

Housing Solutions is an exciting and busy service as we seek to assist people to avoid homelessness and ensure that they have suitable accommodation available to them.

**About the role**

In this vital role, you will give housing advice, proactively help prevent and relieve homelessness and assess the housing need of customers wishing to join the council's Housing Register.

Working closely with housing, social care, health, and other colleagues, you will be responsible for ensuring that the council's statutory duties towards homeless persons and others in housing need are fulfilled. You will also offer advice and support to customers in housing difficulty, empowering them to strengthen their ability to compete in the marketplace for housing.

It is an exciting and busy role, requiring multi-agency and partnership collaboration to help customers resolve their housing difficulties, and to ensure the protection of vulnerable persons.

**About you**

You will be highly empathic, outcome-focussed, and creative, with a commitment to working in partnership with internal and external contacts to ensure a high quality and efficient service.

You should have knowledge of landlord, tenant, allocations and homelessness law, policies and procedures, and experience of managing a demanding caseload, home visits and investigations.

We expect you to be agile, customer-orientated, and highly literate, with excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills.
