Concierge/security

Red Rock Consultants are looking for a Concierge (Security) for a school we are working closely with in Hammersmith who will be responsible to the Premises Manager and is based in Security at the entrance to the School. The primary function of the role is to ensure that a high level of security provision is provided at all times. As a first point of contact for visitors, the Concierge should be welcoming and helpful but firm.

This position requires an immediate start.

**Key tasks and duties:

Dealing with visitors to the School to:

- determine whether they should have access;
- ensure visitors are signed in on arrival and issued with the relevant visitor’s badge (or generic badge) in accordance with the School’s policy;
- ensure visitors and contractors are directed to Reception or accompanied by a member of staff as and when necessary;
- ensure visitors leaving the premises return their badge;
- ensure accurate registers are kept for specific events and that all visitors can be accounted for in the event of an emergency or evacuation.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to relate well to people on all levels. To interact positively with pupils, staff, parents and visitors.

The ability to enforce School policies and procedures in a friendly and confident manner.

To remain calm when managing competing priorities or dealing with an emergency.

**Education and Qualifications**

A willingness to undertake the required training for the role (First Aid at Work and SIA training) if not already trained.

**Experience and Knowledge**

Experience of dealing with the public both in person and on the telephone.

**Working Hours**

The post is offered as 32.5 hours per week during term time and 22.5 hours per week during school holidays. Shifts are worked on rotation, week to week. The shift patterns are 7.00am-1.30pm OR 1.30pm-8.00pm during term time and 8.00am-12.30pm OR 12.30pm-5.00pm during school holidays.

In addition, there are many after-school and some weekend events which require cover.
