Consultant Geriatrician

The Medicine for Older People Department is welcoming 2x Consultants to join our dedicated and proactive team in providing high quality in-patent services across our main acute hospital sites: Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital. You will have the great opportunity to choose your preferred hospital site when joining North West Anglia NHS Trust.

You will be a valued member of a supportive team of 8 specialist Consultants in providing outstanding care to our local community patients on an average inpatient load of 17 patients at the Peterborough City Hospital and 15 at Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

You will be an experienced consultant able to maintain and to take active lead in developing further our Medicine for Older People services to the highest standard. We are encourage and support you in pursuing a special interest such as acute frailty, falls, community geriatrics, Perioperative Surgical Liaison, Movement disorders, and Ortho-geriatrics. The Trust offers a formal mentorship program for all new consultants.

The post is offered for a full time 10 PA basis from which 8.5 clinical programmed activities (CPA) and 1.5 supporting programmed activities (SPA). We are considering flexibility in how you may want to work, and we are open to negotiate the job plan for the benefit of the clinical service delivery. In addition, we will consider all part time requests.
