Information & Technology Services (iTECS) is a Division within Scottish Government and part of Digital Directorate. It is headed by the Deputy Director for Digital Operations and has responsibility for delivering corporate ICT (Information and Communications Technology) services for the Scottish Government.

Since joining the ITECS Transformation Delivery Team, I have enjoyed being part of a very friendly and supportive team. From building on my existing knowledge to participating in new projects, such as Power BI. We have been designing the Power BI service, working through testing, and Go Live. The role has given me the opportunity to develop further in cloud technologies.

I am looking forward to Power BI going live and to working on future parts of the Microsoft Power Platform such as Power Automate and Power Apps. I have learnt a lot about Power BI and the wider Microsoft Power Platform and look forward to continuing this development.

There are also learning opportunities by joining training courses relevant to our field of work. Everyone in the team is happy to share their knowledge making the learning process an easier affair. I am looking forward to getting involved in future cloud projects as we look forward to the changes ahead.

**H**OW WILL I SPEND MY TIME**

As a Power BI Team Leader you will be responsible for managing the first

You will be expected to establish user connections within the company and manage a range of diverse service demands. You will lead your team in Agile and Lean methods, choosing the best strategy for the team or the project.

**Responsibilities**:
**Your **main **responsibilities will include**:

- Track, log and correct information to protect assets and components.
- Identify process optimisation opportunities with guidance and contribute to the implementation of proposed solutions.
- Translate ‘lessons learnt’ from complaint cycles into continual service improvement.
- Take responsibility for the full range of customer service functions, including reviewing customer service satisfaction.
- Investigate which processes can be automated and the ways to do so.
- Take accountability for issues that occur and be proactive in searching for potential problems.
- Achieve excellent user outcomes.
- Initiate and monitor actions to investigate patterns and trends to resolve problems.
- Effectively consult specialists where required.
- Determine the appropriate remedy and assist with its implementation. Determine preventative measures.
- Take inputs and establish coherent frameworks that work.
- You have a Level 3 service management framework qualification.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the life cycle or capability elements of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library).
- Use your data analytics skills to enhance business performance.
- Collaborate with user researchers and can represent users internally.
- Explain the difference between user needs and the desires of the user.
- Champion user research to focus on all users.
- Prioritise and define approaches to understand the user story, guiding others in doing so.
- Offer recommendations on the best tools and methods to use.

**WHAT IMPACT WILL I HAVE?**

Over a successful year you grow to be a fundamental part of the team. You will learn how to support the Power BI service within SCOTS. You will also have built up a range of contacts and relationships across ITECs. You will develop knowledge of the SCOTs network over the year. You will have successfully managed the service desk for Power BI finding solutions for colleagues.
