**Days & Hours**:Monday to Sunday sleeping nights 9pm-7am and Sunday 9am-11am and 5pm-6:30pm

**Driving Clients Car? **Yes, our clients Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle (WAV), automatic
**Using Own Vehicle for work purposes?** To attend trainings
**Essential**:Supporting adults with acquired brain injury with associated physical and cognitive impairments.
**Desirable**: Experience of working with adults with disabilities and an interest in therapy
**Family Pets**:2 dogs

George was born in 1972 and is a fun-loving individual who has a variety of interests and has a great sense of humour. He loves going out for trips in the car and his favourite activity is visiting building sites so he can watch diggers. George also likes to listen to music and watching sport on the TV. His favourite football team is Bournemouth FC. His family is important to him, and he lives at home with parents in an adapted bungalow.

George was born with learning difficulties and as a young adult sustained further injury from an accident. This resulted in a neurological condition mainly affecting the use of his arms and legs. He is independently mobile in a self-propelling wheelchair and can transfer with assistance of one person. George has mínimal verbal speech but communicates his needs via facial expression and gestures.

New support workers will need to take the time to get to know George, his family and their daily routine. George requires assistance with personal care, transfers and to be able to do the activities he enjoys. He needs prompting to take medication and support with his nutritional needs. The support worker role will be to assist with these tasks as well as doing some household routines (cleaning, laundry).

George requires daily assistance with showering, drying and dressing. George usually likes to get up for his shower at around 8.30am. He enjoys spending the first part of the morning getting ready for the day ahead and eating his breakfast. George’s home environment is fully adapted to meet his needs

**Pay and Benefits**:

- £12.00 per hour Weekdays and £14.00 per hour Weekends- On-going training & support provided- 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata- Free DBS check.**In order to promote continuity of our high care standards, you will be offered**:

- Relevant training opportunities (including The Care Certificate),
- Regular clinical supervision/review meetings,
- On-going support from a dedicated Case Manager and HR department

- About You
- Must be able to work with specialist equipment (training will be provided). A Handling Management Plan is available and is designed to reduce the risk of handling injuries, but you may be required to bend, kneel, squat, push or pull.
- Experience with working with clients with Acquired Brain Injury and associated physical and cognitive impairment.
- Confident to provide support with aspects of behavioural management associated with a brain injury/learning difficulty.
- Confident and comfortable working in George’s own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of him and his family
