**Hours **FT - 37.5 hours per week (7 day service including bank holidays 8-8)

We are looking for enthusiastic Psychology Graduates to contribute to the promotion of psychological, emotional and behavioural wellbeing of adults with a learning disability referred to our Intensive Support Team service. This will help to reduce placement break down or admission to hospital.

Assistant Psychologist (Learning Disabilities Speciality) - The post is 37.5hrs per week (1.0 WTE) - Band 4 permanent.

The post on offer is within All Age Intensive Support team - Learning Disabilities and covers all areas of the Black Country. This team is a part of the Trust's Specialist Learning Disability Service for people with learning disabilities within the Black Country Healthcare Foundation Trust (BCHFT).

**Main duties of the job**
- To administer standardised psychological assessment of clients and collect assessment data from a variety of sources.
- Responsible for recognising the potential for or signs of client harm, abuse or neglect, including poor clinical practice, reporting all such concerns and taking all reasonable steps to protect the client. Responsible for identifying and reporting concerns regarding the safeguarding of individuals who may be at risk.
- Under the supervision of an Applied Psychologist, supports the development of psychological formulation and intervention plans for individual clients and/or their carers. Negotiates the implementation of such plans with clients and/or their carers.
- Under the supervision of an Applied Psychologist, implements psychological interventions for individual clients, carers, families and groups.
- Under the supervision of an Applied Psychologist, to develop resources and materials to support the delivery of the service.
- To maintain appropriate records by adding to the patient’s clinical notes and to provide written reports of psychological assessments and interventions.
- To contribute to service audit and development.

**Person specification**

**Essential and desireable**

**Essential criteria**
- Have at least a 2:1 undergraduate degree in Psychology that allows Graduate Basis for Chartered (GBC) membership with the BPS
- Must have experience of working as an assistant psychologist or equivalent
- Experience of working with Adults with Learning disability

**Desirable criteria**
- Registration with BPS
- Evidence of ongoing study and development

Pay: £25,147.00-£27,596.00 per year
