Experienced Barista

Job description

We need an experienced Barista and Bar person. You will be quick and efficient and used to working rapidly when service is busy. Your hours will be Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays with the other two days negotiable eg shorter shift or if you have food prep skills you could work in the main kitchen or pastry kitchen to add variety to your job. We currently have a barista who does some baking for us as well.

About Luckes Cafe-Bistro

We are a local Independent Cafe-Bistro in North St Chichester. We are all about creating delicious handmade food and drink, using as much local, seasonal and organic produce as possible. We have a great following of loyal customers, some of which come in daily. Our coffee is renowned for being the best in Chi. It is made from a combination of top quality organic beans and organic milk from the Goodwood Estate, made on a top of the range La Marzocco Espresso Machine. We also have an excellent wine list and are looking to add a small number top quality cocktails to this.

As a family run business we are a close knit team which is a lovely environment to work in. We are open 7 days a week during the day and just three evenings a week.

About The Role

We are looking for a Barista who is passionate about their coffee and can make a really good cup, ideally with latte art skills, but this isn't critical. You will need to have experience in hospitality or retail and be very efficient and comfortable working in a fast paced environment.

You must be able to multi task rapidly, think quickly under pressure and have a good memory - being able to work on two orders at a time or more.

You will be fit and strong. This job is physically demanding and the Cafe-Bistro over lunchtimes and some evenings, is high paced.

You will be confident and outgoing and friendly and be able to serve customers in a professional manner. We aim to look after the needs of each and every customer with a warm, friendly smile and a can do attitude and you will be expected to be like this at all times during your shift.

Whilst your role will be making coffee and serving drinks, you will sometimes be needed to cover other roles when colleagues are taking a break, eg serve on the till (daytime), run food or do a bit of washing up. Everyone in our business does, from the Owner and Manager down to the Saturday girl, there's no room in our work family for a prima donna

You will be a confident people person who is motivated, hard working and has lots of common sense. You will be friendly and helpful towards customers and your co workers and enjoy working in a close knit team.
