This is an exciting opportunity for a pro-active, hardworking assistant gardener to join a small team on a private estate in Norfolk, near Kings Lynn. Working alongside the Head Gardener, this role will assist in the cultivation, conservation and maintenance of the garden and grounds to the highest possible standards.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- To assist with the overall day to day maintenance of all aspects of the garden, grounds, and garden buildings such as sheds and greenhouses.
- To carry out shrub and tree planting as part of a co-ordinated scheme.
- To ensure plants are watered and fed along with pest and disease control being implemented as necessary.
- Maintain an awareness of the principles behind the organisation of the gardens and presentation standards.
- To assist with seasonal maintenance throughout the year.
- Ensure that all tools and machinery are correctly used, maintained, and stored.
- Occasional weekend watering.

**CANDIDATE CRITERIA**
- Have strong and proven horticultural knowledge and relevant gardening experience, ideally within a large private garden.
- A recognised horticultural qualification or be in the process of completing.
- An eye for detail and delivering to exceptional standards. Grounds maintenance experience.
- Hold the following certificates/formal qualifications:

- Clean C1 UK driving licence.
- PA1 & PA6 spraying certificates.
- Have knowledge of maintaining ornamental lawns.
- Have demonstrable experience in the cultivation, planting, and maintenance of a wide range of plants.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on site.
- Personal pride in a high standard of workmanship.
- A good understanding of the principles of organic gardening.
- Full understanding and experience of the operation, maintenance and health and safety implications of basic horticultural machinery.
- Have the ability to communicate to a range of individuals.
- Flexible, reliable, and enjoy working as part of a team.
- Good organisational and time management skills and the proven ability to prioritise own work, showing initiative.
- Ability to uphold the highest levels of confidentiality and exercise discretion in all aspects of the role.
- Must have own property/living arrangements -** this is a live-out position and no accommodation will be provided.**
