**Your role**
- In the Group Dockmaster role, within the Marine Operations Department, you will be responsible for vessel movements within the Birkenhead and Liverpool enclosed docks, including operating bridges and locks, and for regulating vessel movements within the system as well as onto the River Mersey. You will operate Automatic Identification Systems, Closed-Circuit Television and Very High Frequency Radio communication equipment in accordance with International Association Lighthouse Authority and Maritime and Coastguard Agency standards, port specific procedures and local legislation. You will receive structured training to achieve a local knowledge endorsement to enable you to act in the capacity of Dockmaster at your accredited Locks.- You will plan and control the docking, undocking and movement of vessels within the Birkenhead and Liverpool enclosed docks, including ensuring dock system water levels and operation of the dock Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system to allow vessels to transit safely. You will ensure all relevant data is entered and recorded in the Peel Ports Vessel Management System or Online Booking Portal as required, including the coordination of vessel bookings by agents and advising on berth availability.- As part of the Ports infrastructure we have isolated emergency resilience locations and equipment that you will be trained to operated, test and fall back to in the event of an emergency. You will provide first response support to marine related incidents and accident. Working within an assigned watch, on a shift pattern basis with support from the Group Port Control Shift Mangers.**Who are we?**
