**Basic Purpose of Role**

The Accounts Assistant provides support and engages in duties to alleviate the transactional and administrative workload of the Accounts Officer.

The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for covering the Sales Administrator during leave and supporting with all administrative work as generated by the business.

Due to the sensitive nature of the information being processed, discretion and trust will be paramount.

**Duties - Accounts**
- Filing and updating records
- Posting purchase invoices and updating ledger
- Posting sales invoices and updating ledgers
- Preparing and posting journals
- Assisting with bank reconciliations
- Dealing with receipts and matching to any correspondence
- Dealing with customer account queries
- Credit control

**Duties - Sales Admin cover**
- Answering the phone
- Raising sales orders and invoices in Sage
- Liaising with warehouse to arrange customer deliveries

**Company Responsibilities**

**Health & Safety Responsibilities**
- Follow systems of work in place for your health and safety.
- Use properly any equipment provided for your health and safety.
- Cooperate with line managers on health and safety matters.
- Inform line managers if things change or you identify hazardous handling activities
- Take care to make sure activities do not put others at risk.
- To report to your manager or supervisor any injury, collision, dangerous occurrence or a near miss in which you were involved, or aware of having taken place at your place of work.

**Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required**
- Minimum 5 years previous experience of sales ledger and/or purchase ledger processing necessary
- Previous experience of working in an administrative role.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- Able to work to deadlines and prioritise.
- Committed to organisational confidentiality and supportive of equality issues across the organisation
- Computer literate including working with a digital filing system, Sage 50 and MS office (Excel knowledge essential)
- Strong team player.
- Good relationship building
- Strong attention to detail

Monday to Friday, 9am - 4.30pm

**Job Type**: Temporary contract
Contract length: 3 months

**Salary**: £23,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Moss Side: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Accounting: 5 years (required)
