**Job Overview**:
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Senior Cleaning Supervisor to manage and be accountable for a team of Cleaners within a high-profile building based in Central Birmingham. The Senior Cleaning Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring a 5* service is being delivered at all times, and service standards for the delivery of routine planned and periodic cleaning for a Mitie client. The Senior Cleaning Supervisor will ensure the contract service delivery is of a high standard, meeting all SLA agreements whilst adhering to the cleaning schedules. You must be confident in dealing with customers, problem solving and have the drive to go above and beyond for all visitors, providing an exceptional customer experience.

The role will report to the Soft Service Manager and will be responsible for ensuring the services delivered by the site/location cleaners are consistent and in accordance with contract obligations, legal obligations (if applicable) including compliance with Health and Safety:

- Establishment, deployment and compliance with Safe Systems of Work for the workplace teams
- Higher risk activities which may include Lone Working and operative exposure to potential terrorism threats and aggressive activist's activity.
- Consistent standards of service delivered across the entire contract. Not limited to presentation of the workplace teams, client and end user interface/interaction and timely reporting and escalation of issues where applicable

The role will be both internal and external facing. In the external facing role the Senior Cleaning Supervisor will need to provide assurance to the client and at the same time work in a collaborative manner exuding confidence and assertiveness whilst building and maintaining rapport and relationships

**Main Duties**
- Selection and training of suitable cleaning operatives and supervisors
- Responsible for the delivery of routine planned and periodic cleaning, including reactive works.
- Planning and co-ordination of work with the supply chain.
- Ensure that information held on CAFM system is accurate and timely
- Manage reactive work and on-call service.
- Management of the cleaning team, including recruitment, selection and development of staff
- Ensure staff are trained to carry out works safely, efficiently and to standard.
- Liaison with client personnel and end users to ensure a high standard service delivery
- Co-ordinate with the Soft Services Coordinator to ensure that scope of works, access and programmes are viable.
- Management of budget to ensure works are completed to time and cost.
- Use of the CAFM system to produce performance figures against contractual KPIs and SLAs.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with policies and procedures on Health & Safety, Quality Assurance & Environment.
- Liaise, audit and manage the supply chain.
- Investigate and manage customer complaints and compliments in accordance with contract procedures, ensuring all relevant matters are escalated to the Soft Services Coordinator
- Conduct performance reviews and appraisals of Cleaning team

**What we are looking for**:
Applicants will need to be able demonstrate at least 2 years in a supervisory role and relevant experience working in a large-scale commercial cleaning operation. They will be responsible for themselves and others to ensure we maintain a safe and compliant working environment in line with the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and subsequent UK and EU amendments. They will provide health and safety management in accordance with our Quality Management System and all legal and statutory requirements.

**Essential Skills**:

- A proven ability to manage all aspects of a people based service within the scope of the contract
- The ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, employees and teams at all levels
- A high level of focus on the achievement of targeted results and service delivery standards
- A sound appreciation of modern business processes and a commitment to best practice, innovation and change
- A sound appreciation of the requirements of Health & Safety and associated legislation
- Have completed BICS standard training
- Remains calm under pressure, commands respect and can communicate effectively at all levels.
- You will be confident in making decisions and follow up with action, achieving objectives by motivating and working through others.
- Be able to view short-term targets in the light of longer-term objectives, work within agreed systems and procedures, and maintain accurate records.
- Continuously pursue high cleaning and customer service standards, embrace change, recognise improvement opportunities and learn from experience.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Quality Assurance and Environment.
- Undertake various general administrative duties as required by the management team.
- Be aware of the business continuity plan for the Client Services operations
