Your role will be to design inclusive and accessible products that are part of end-to-end services across HMRC and government.

- Create prototypes and concepts, using the government prototyping toolkit, to communicate and test ideas with users and improve with evidence
- Map user journeys, processes and visualise design problems
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on multiple services and help to facilitate the design process, participating in research activities, workshops and communicating design decisions to the team and stakeholders

**You will also be expected to**:

- Actively participate in the HMRC and cross-government design communities, both digitally and face-to-face
- Proactively seek new learning opportunities and look to continually improve by gaining feedback from your peers and the business

**Person specification**:
You will have a demonstrable passion for interaction design and be able to showcase this in an anonymised design portfolio. You should also have proven experience in:

- An understanding of user research methods and practice, with proven experience using metrics and user feedback to inform design
- Good understanding of web technologies and how they affect design, including accessibility
- An awareness of how to analyse pain points within services and communicating and sharing design solutions that fulfil user needs and business outcomes

talking about your design decisions and approach to stakeholders of various levels, and convincing them that user needs and a user-centred approach are the right way to design products and services

**Desirable expertise**:
