**Responsibilities**:
**Safeguarding Practitioner - Children and Adults at Risk**

**Band 7: £43,742 - £50,056**

**37.5 hours per week**

**A fantastic opportunity for a driven, dynamic individual who is passionate about safeguarding child and adults at risk to join our safeguarding team in the role of Safeguarding Practitioner (safeguarding children and adults at risk).**

You will be expected to deliver excellent professional practice across all our services to ensure we comply with statutory requirements and that staff feel supported and confident in their safeguarding responsibilities. The applicant will need to ensure that safeguarding principles are embedded into ‘everyday practice’ by supporting colleagues to understand safeguarding issues, in order to improve outcomes for adults and children.

Important elements of this role comprise participation in the planning, delivery and evaluation of safeguarding learning including both single and multi-agency training in accordance with the intercollegiate documents. In addition, you will be expected to represent Locala at internal and multiagency meetings.

You will have excellent communication and negotiation skills as you will need to work closely with Locala colleagues and external statutory partners. In addition, a thorough level of understanding around the policies, standards and the legislative framework that supports everyday practice including the Children Acts 1989, 2004, Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguard is essential.

***In order to be shortlisted it is essential that you:
- Hold a current professional registration e.g., NMC or other allied health care professional.
- Have a relevant professional degree or equivalent.
- Have evidence of significant on-going professional development and learning in relation to safeguarding (in addition to mandatory training).

In order to undertake the role, it would be desirable if you:
- Have an additional specialist qualification in Community Public Health Nursing / Adult/ children’s Nursing or equivalent qualification /experience,
- Have a master’s degree or equivalent qualification.
- Have a teaching qualification or equivalent experience of delivering training.
