The Head of Occupational Health role will be a member of the senior management team and will implement, develop and embed health, safety and welfare strategies in line with trust visions and objectives for employees’ health and wellness.

You will provide strategic leadership and direction to the clinical team, and will provide a visible clinical profile and advisory input into the clinical management of the people who use our services.

Ensure that all key performance indicators (KPI’s) for the services are met and that robust and routine monitoring and reporting arrangements are in place. Ensure a continuous quality improvement approach to all aspects of the service and team working
- ensure a robust Audit process is in place and regularly monitored

You will be professionally accountable and required to act autonomously in providing clinical advice and guidance to other clinical professionals based on own specialist skills, knowledge and experience of occupational health.

You will be responsible for relevant clinical policies and oversee standards and processes in order to ensure they are fit for purpose and are delivered consistently across all aspects of the service’s work for which the clinical team are accountable.

You will work in an evidence-based way considering both local and national guidance to ensure current and future needs of MTW staff.

You will contribute to the delivery of MTW’s People and Culture Strategy, working collaborative with colleagues in Resourcing, Learning and Development, Wellbeing, Staff Psychology and other relevant teams.

Promote a healthy team, encourage engagement, reduce sickness absence in line with people strategy and support professional development all functions within OH

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.

The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 500,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex.

The Trust’s core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs. We work from two main clinical sites: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients - the first of its kind in the country.
