Job Title: Yard Shunter
Location: Kettering

**Salary**:£11.72 per hour
Our Kettering-based client is seeking to add a Yard Shunter to their expanding team in Kettering. This role will mainly involve working alongside the Production & Operations team to co-ordinate vehicle deliveries / collections and off-site vehicle repairs.

**The main duties will include: -**
- The day-to-day coordination and facilitation of vehicle movements on and off site including but limited to the booking in of vehicles, inspections of vehicles, and logistics coordination with the Operations Support Assistant, Production Manager, and Sales Administration teams.
- Organising and planning driver duties on a day-to-day basis for the successful coordination of off-site Individual Vehicle Approvals.
- To oversee the authorization and handing out of vehicle keys and the location and designation of vehicles to improve accessibility and production downtime accessing vehicles.
- A key responsibility is to aid the improvement of the yard layout and to work with the Production and Operations Manager to improve the site layout in its entirety.
- Responsible for the on-time reporting of vehicle damage and the coordination of vehicle repairs including the on-site work carried out by third party contractors.
- Working with the Production Manager to coordinate all contractor control and to ensure all contractors adhere to Company Health and Safety rules and legislation.
- To coordinate the Forklift Truck daily checks, storage, and charging.
- Must have a full drivers licence and, ideally, HGV licence
- A high degree of aptitude with a willingness to "get the job done"
- Ability to multi task and work in a challenging / time critical environment
- Good technical knowledge of vehicles would be advantageous
- Previous experience in vehicle logistics
- **Valid Counterbalance Licence**

This is a permanent role working Monday to Thursday 0700-1615, Friday 0700-1430
