Support Hub Coordinator

Bedford, United Kingdom SMART CJS Full time

Thank you for taking an interest in joining the team

Founded in 1997, we are a charity that provides safe spaces forpeople who are facing or experiencing homelessness, are roughsleeping or have fallen on tough times. As times have changed, our services have adapted and grown, but we’ve always kept thepeople we support at the centre of all that we do.

With a strong culture and set of values that prioritise diversity and inclusivity, we strive tocreate a work environment that is both motivating and inclusive.

**About the role**

As the Support Hub Coordinator you will be a welcoming, friendly face and the first point of contact at SMART's well-known Support Hub on Prebend Street.

The post holder will be proactive and motivated, with great interpersonal and communication skills. Someone with strong organisational skills is a must, as the role is likely to include a range of tasks and priorities. As this is a new role, we will need the post holder to be flexible in their approach and be comfortable to adapt as the needs of the organisation and role change.

**About you**

We are looking for someone who is comfortable and familiar with working in a small company or charity, understanding that capacity and resources are limited. As such, a ‘can do’ attitude and motivated approach is key.

There will often be multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities, so you will need to be well organised and with excellent communication skills.

You’ll have an empathetic approach with an understanding of the challenges facing people that are homeless or rough sleeping. You will be able to record information on our database ensuring that records are kept up to date. Aside from this, you will keep a close eye and record of items needed for the continued running of the centre. This might include ordering and arranging delivery of items, but also donations coming into the centre from supporters.

We would love it if you have experience of coordinating a day centre or similar community service, and are able to identify and implementing service improvement ideas, but if you haven’t done this before, and are willing to learn, we would still love to hear from you.
