**Main Purpose**

Working at our Darwen base, the position will lead and manage a number of targeted projects directly with young people aged 8 to 21 years old. Working under the Targeted Team Lead, you will lead group activities for young people with known vulnerabilities (referred by a multi-agency panel) and actively lead an outreach team to effectively provide community-based engagement, positive activity and make appropriate referrals to local grassroots provisions.

You will need to understand the different levels of needs, how to proactively engage young people with known vulnerabilities and with existing barriers to participation and be agile in working with young people in different settings and environments, including centered base youth work, onsite intervention/prevention techniques and open access youth clubs.

You will need to demonstrate the ability to meet KPIs, which may include, however, not limited to, caseload management, youth work practices informal learning delivery and data/administration.

**Main Responsibilities**
- To plan and deliver the outreach and detached programme ensuring that it inspires and motivates young people in a fully inclusive, safe, exceptional, cost-effective, relevant and planned programme, always promoting the values of Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone across different settings.
- To plan and deliver nurturing and enriching activities to young people with known vulnerabilities and barriers to participation, aiming to support their transition into universal services.
- Design programmes that encourage young people to engage in more positive and constructive activity within their own community.
- To establish relationships of trust and mutual respect with young people and offer them support and encouragement, addressing key issues including health, self-esteem, independent living and managing relationships
- Hold a caseload of young people identified in need of support, providing tailored 1:1 sessions and monitoring and recording sessions on CRM systems
- Responding to behaviour incidents through effective intervention and in line with the club's behavior management policy.
- Signpost young people to appropriate external services (street-based and through formal referral pathways)
- Ability to understand and work with other agencies and youth providers, ensuring that there is an opportunity to share information and encourage a holistic approach across the town
