15 hours per week (flexible working hours)

4 Week Rota will consist mainly morning shifts with the odd afternoon shift throughout the month to support business needs - week 3 will include a Sunday shift.

Hours can change as we must adapt to the home's needs.

Wellington Vale is a luxury nursing/dementia and residential care home situated in Waterlooville.

We are looking for a compassionate, friendly Activities Assistant to assist our Activities Co-ordinator. Ideally you will have some experience of working with Dementia as you will often be on the Dementia floor with our residents.

This role requires some flexible hours and additional hours when covering any sickness or holidays within the Activities team.

Working very closely with our Activities Co-ordinator the Activities Assistant role is a hands-on working role helping to co-ordinate a successful activities and volunteer programme within the Cinnamon home. This includes internal and external communication with activities-focused programmes for our residents.

You will introduce and assist with appropriate activities for older people which support independence and to identify activities in the surrounding areas that will assist residents to integrate into the local community.

**Main Responsibilities**:
1. Conduct activities that encourage both social, mental and if appropriate physical stimulation for the residents within the home.

2. To help organise fund raising events.

3. To help organise special events i.e. Christmas entertainment, Ascot, Royal Occasions etc.

4. To encourage residents and team members to participate in the homes activities programme.

Be part of the Activities team supporting and joining in with group or one-to-one activities.
