Distribution Controller

PURPOSE OF ROLE:
Smooth running of a pick and pack operation: receiving goods in, checking of goods and packing securely for despatch via courier / pallet network to our customers.

To ensure packing material stocks are kept to a suitable level for safe carriage of goods including chemicals.

To keep a tight control on stock levels by means of a rolling audit to ensure the smooth running of the business.

To ensure warehouse is kept clean, tidy and free from any hazards or obstructions.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To liaise with the customer to ensure the prompt, efficient and safe delivery of chemicals, consumables and glassware to customers on a next day delivery.

2. To arrange a collection of goods from customers.

3. Day to Day management of the warehouse, including:
a. receiving goods into the warehouse, using either the pallet truck, forklift truck or manual handling to store appropriately in the warehouse.

b. ensuring the warehouse premises are maintained as a safe environment for all staff and visitors, in accordance with Good Housekeeping, Health and Safety and Fire Risk practices.

c. controlling the safe handling of products within the store and at despatch.

d. maintaining accurate stock control information is readily available and all stock is appropriately managed to facilitate easy picking and identification of slow moving and obsolete stock.

4. Despatch items according to the despatch note, ensuring approved packaging materials are used, and appropriate despatch documentation is available.

Essential:
Full Driving Licence

Knowledge of Health and Safety awareness.

Handling of chemicals

Good interpersonal and organisation skills

Desirable:
Forklift Driver Certificate

**Salary**: £22,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
