Role Context:
Supports the Site Compliance/SQSE Manager and works with the Site Advisor or Manager to deliver compliance to legal requirements and to pladis standards of food safety, quality, hygiene, pest control, health, safety & environmental standards, through involvement of site activities, monitoring, auditing and providing advice.

Co-ordinates the compliance elements of raw material intake (ingredients and packaging) and is a key contact for suppliers.

Supports the site in managing complaints, accidents, issue and incident prevention and investigations.

Implements continuous improvements to the systems, processes and standards as directed by the SCM.

Key Accountabilities and Deliverables:
- Maintains a good knowledge of the site and its operations, with a clear focus on food safety, hygiene, health and safety, environment and quality.- Supports the site teams in ensuring compliance to appropriate GMPs and HSE Operating standards.- Recognises and raises any issues or areas of concern where SQSE is at risk. Reviews, makes recommendation and supports implementation of appropriate changes and preventative measures.- Carries out internal site SQSE audits, to the approved schedule, to demonstrate adherence to standards and procedures that deliver high Safety, Quality and Environment standards.- Instrumental in preparing the site for central & external accreditation audits. Supports during audits and visits (e.g. local authority, high profile and head office visits), preparing documentation and collating traceability information.- Ensures all relevant documentation and site systems are in line with SQSE standards and all changes are effectively communicated in a timely and effective manner.- Co-ordinates the compliance elements of raw material intake, including arrangements for testing, documentation, traceability and supplier review.- Has authority to accept or reject non-conforming materials and to issue Vendor Non-Conformances.- As a key member (minimum) of the site’s HACCP team, ensures new products and processes, and any changes, are identified and reviewed through the formal HACCP process.- Supports site CCP integrity - monitoring metal finds and sieving overtail finds, raising awareness to emerging issues to SCM.- Maintains “Drive for Compliance” documentation.- Supports continuous improvement through identification of areas for improvement, involvement in projects and through support in issue resolution, driving a reduction in risks and ensuring best practice.- Carries out general and topic specific Risk Assessments for the site SQSE teams and supports other teams in completion of same.- Become a trained CoSHH Risk Assessor and supports the maintenance of the site CoSHH register.- Co-ordinates contracted activities for areas of compliance as determined by the SCM, such as pest control, calibration, sample analysis and quality/environmental monitoring, with responsibility to drive actions resulting from those inspections.- Has an active role in issue, incident and accident investigations and resolutions- Supports all KPI monitoring, by collating data and information (i.e. complaints, accident levels, recurring issues, Pest control, repeat audit non-conformance and hygiene performance). Alerting their manager to trends and providing support in the formation and documentation of key action plans to address the performance.- Carries out appropriate SQSE training of site manufacturing teams.

Qualifications and Skills Required:
