We are currently looking for a passionate HLTA to join the team at Ysogl Tan Y Gaer.

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will have a crucial part to play in assisting the education and development of pupils following the guidance of the Head of Education and Class Teacher.

**Key duties and responsibilities**:

- Deliver interventions.
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Comply with and support the implementation of all school policies.
- Adhere to Health & Safety Policies and ensure all tasks are carried out with regards to health and safety.
- Work towards pupils’ individualised targets set out within the IDP/EHCP in liaison with the class teacher and ALNCO.
- Provide learning support for pupils in class or in intervention areas, either 1:1 or in small groups.
- Develop knowledge of the particular needs of the pupils and seek advice from the ALNCO, class teacher, and outside agencies as directed.
- Aid access to the full range of learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom and provide modified materials as required (e.g. games, visual prompt cards).
- Create or modify resources to meet pupil needs.
- Be involved in the planning and preparation of day-to-day class activities.
- Organise and maintain an inclusive learning environment both in the classroom and outside.
- Motivate and encourage pupils to participate in activities they may be unsure of.
- Provide positive reinforcements, praise, and rewards.
- Facilitate inclusion in small group activities and support interaction.

**Qualification, Skills, and Experience**
- Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant (TA) qualification or equivalent.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics at grade C or above.
- Additional qualifications related to special educational needs (SEN) are advantageous.

**Experience**
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational or support setting.
- Familiarity with supporting pupils with SEN.
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with challenging behaviours.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet individual pupil needs.
- Awareness of safeguarding procedures and commitment to child protection.
- Teamwork and collaboration within a school environment.
- Experience working as a Classroom Support Assistant.
- Be creative in your approach to engage pupils.
- Strongly self-motivated and personally resilient.
