We are looking for a Placements and External Assessments Coordinator to join our team at Heartwood.

**Role Summary**:
To deliver a smooth placement experience for our counselling students (Level 4 and above), ensure compliance to accreditation and to include this as a formal part of our courses.

To support, assess and track individual learners on placement using already established systems and ensure databases and administrative duties are adhered to with regard to our processes.

To deliver/present fortnightly (during term time) online question and answer ((drop in) sessions via Zoom with a tutor present at various times in the month (on some evenings).

**Main duties**
- Contact and/or visit counselling placement agencies to build up a supply of placement opportunities for students and to maintain a database of contacts
- Assist students to match with placements
- Liaise with tutors, to ensure students are prepared for their placement and that they have suitable skills to be successful
- Liaise closely with colleagues and attend meetings as and when required to update progress and share information
- Meet with placements agencies when required to ensure all requirements are met and covers clear objectives for skills development by the student
- Provide support to placements agencies, tutors and students and deal with any queries that arise
- Undertake regular reviews with students on placement and complete necessary review paperwork
- Collate, monitor and analyse student and placements feedback and use this to suggest changes to the placement process if appropriate
- Prepare student and placement information and ensure that all paperwork is in place and recorded
- Undertake all necessary administration (letters, forms etc.) for placements
- Understand personal responsibility to adhere to relevant college policies and procedures and implement these
- Present the college in the best light at all times
- Carry out all duties with due regard to Health and Safety Regulations
- Positively promote equality
- Carry out other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time

**Person specification**

Car driver with access to a car/transport

Ability/willingness to work flexibly

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Commitment to team working

Ability to work under pressure and use initiative

GCSE grades 3 and above or equivalent

Experience/ knowledge of working in a further education setting (preferable)

Experience of working directly with external agencies arranging placements

Ability to maintain good working relationships

A good working knowledge of using Excel, Word and similar computer programmes
