Sales and Marketing Administrator

Up to £24,000 Basic Salary

Milton Keynes, office based

Mon - Fri

Looking for people with a little bit of marketing experience whether that be from college / university or work.

**Purpose of Job**

**General**

To assist in the co-ordination of the sales effort and resources to best promote the company’s full range of industrial equipment throughout the UK, while maintaining the sales and marketing database ensuring the existing customer base is retained and newmarket opportunities are identified and fully exploited.

**Sales**

To generate product sales, and product awareness in the marketplace to agreed personal targets through own initiative and marketing campaigns and helping develop the company’s customer database by maintaining telephone contact with existing customers andprospecting for new customers.

**Key Features - Sales and Marketing Support**
- Supporting the Area Sales Executives with mailshots, sales and quote presentations to known potential users of the Company product range, assisting in the continual approach of prospecting for new potential users. Recording and monitoring responses andfollow up as necessary
- Accurately maintaining the sales and marketing database for the business unit
- Working with the Marketing Department at Head Office to design and administer mailshots and other marketing literature weekly
- Monitoring all group and internal leads, assisting the sales team with updating the database
- Liaising with the sales and rental teams as appropriate to share sales and marketing intelligence and ensure a co-ordinated company response to customer demands is maintained
- Preparing contract hire and purchase quotations for the sales team
- Producing weekly and monthly sales database reports for the sales team and Commercial Director
- Assisting the Hire Fleet Controller, when required, in maintaining complete accuracy with rental documentation to ensure paperwork is valid and up to date in order to meet company requirements
- Building and maintaining good relationships with both colleagues and customers alike, ensuring the Company retains its overall high market position
- Performing weekly updates on the company website and used sales stocklists
- Liaising with suppliers for photos and promotional materials
- Creating and updating company specification sheets for new equipment on fleet
- Taking photos and videos, creating marketing content to the Brand Guidelines with use of Photoshop and other design software
- Working with the Marketing Placement Student on the social media marketing strategy
- Writing articles for the Group Vision magazine, outlining new developments within the business

**Key Features - International Sales**
- Using industry-related information when speaking to the marketplace and maximising every opportunity to a successful conclusion for us and the potential customer
- Using initiative to help generate and develop revenue potential
- Finding out about potential customers’ requirements for products, and recording this (and any competitor information) on the company database
- Organising sale equipment and transport for international customers and prospective customers
- Promoting other companies and input cross-sales leads into the sales database
- Undertaking training as required to meet the requirements of the job description

**Direction Received**
- The job holder reports to the Commercial Director and the Managing Director regarding sales planning, direction, quotations and general sales guidance
- The Commercial Director will provide the job holder with marketing training and support, which includes, but is not limited to; database training and development, trade leads and information to assist the job holder in this position

**Knowledge and Experience**
- Previous experience in a marketing environment is essential
- Customer service focussed
- Previous sales experience
- Confident, persuasive and able to negotiate
- Excellent telephone manner and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Effective time-management, able to work under pressure and on own initiative
- A working knowledge and understanding of the sales cycle
- Good organisational ability and attention to detail
- Computer literate, Microsoft and bespoke packages and advanced keyboard skills
