Vital Energi is a leading provider of renewable energy infrastructure and systems to the public and private sectors. We are supporting Hospitals, Universities, New Build developments, Towns and Cities as well as Industrial and Commercial clients to decarbonisetheir buildings.

**The Opportunity**

**The Role**
- Prepare and present accurate prime cost estimates for a variety of underground district heating projects within set deadlines.
- Meet both clientele as well as potential sub-contractors (with the support of Vital Energi site-based staff) to review works packages, in order to assess what is required and the impacts on the tender of any elements which may not be necessarily visiblewithin tender packs.
- Liaise with pre-construction director to determine the technical and commercial approach to each estimate, and to identify areas of potential commercial advantage and agree the manner in which these are capitalised
- Understand and meet client and/or company requirements for each estimate under your responsibility
- Check the sufficiency and adequacy of tender information for pricing.
- Raise and record tender queries and inform appropriate personnel of clarifications etc.
- Compile accurate primes cost estimates compliant with the specification
- Ensure company norms/internal rates comply with all costing sheets are current at the time of production
- Ensure that all tender returns from subcontractors and suppliers are in full compliance with the requirements and are comparable with competing offers received, if not a return visit to sub-contractors to split out certain items will be required in orderto compare quotes like for like.
- Ensure that estimates take account of all requirements relating to commercial and contractual issues that may affect any pricing elements.
- Compile tendering packs for a selection of sub-contractors to review and price to.
- Compile internal tender summary documents for review by line managers in order to be submitted to clients.
- Attend and support with tender award handover meetings with delivery & commercial teams.
- Seek to review the UK network to broaden our sub-contractors we could utilise for our works packages.
- Look to visit sites, as and when required, across the UK, in order to gain a better understanding of the works we are tendering and any effect any existing elements may have on our approach to the tender.
- Promote and comply with the Company’s policies on equality and health and safety both in the delivery of service and the treatment of others.
- Engage with your manager in reviewing your works undertake on a regular basis
- Carry out other duties consistent with the nature and responsibilities of your post.
- Make the customer central to your activity and seek to deliver excellent service to every customer whether external or internal, whilst also ensuring prime costs are correct.

Travel to sites around UK will be required now and again (a company car will be provided) including travel to London (or other sites) on occasions.

**The Person**
- Skills and Education:_
- 5 GCSE’s Grade C and above, 3 A Level’s Grade C and above
- Ability to read & understand technical drawings (support will be provided on this to develop skill)
- Ability to ensure sufficiency of tenderers prices through carrying out an analysis of received quotations and comparing them to others, as well as ensuring included all items requested.
- Knowledge of comparable quotes are compared like for like.
- Competent in preparing cost plans
- PC Literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
