Head of Finance Operations

To support the University in the management of our finances we are looking for an experienced and qualified Head of Finance Operations to lead, develop and deliver its core financial processing functions.

The post holder should be an excellent communicator with a proven track record of managing, motivating and developing a team of staff to deliver key outcomes to stakeholders across the University. We are seeking a natural leader of the team with experience in process ownership and design of change management within payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable who can be hands-on when required.

This is a senior management post and you will be expected to contribute fully as a member of the University’s Finance Senior Management Team.

Key responsibilities also include: leading the day-to-day operations and longer-term development of all three of the University’s financial processing operations, overseeing the work of around 18 members of staff; the re-design, development and implementation of working practices and procedures to meet legislative and regulatory requirements; providing monthly management information for all areas of responsibility as well as ad hoc analyses when required; and taking responsibility for the technical accounting entries in the ledger whilst ensuring compliance with accounting standards and applicable rules.
