We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who has an eye for accuracy and attention to detail to join our busy finance team.

Working with the Finance Team, you will gain experience across a wide range of Financial functions whilst supporting the organisation to maintain and improve its financial performance.

**What you’ll be doing **
- Deal with aspects of Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger activity including maintenance of customer and supplier records, raising and processing invoices, credit notes and refunds, posting receipts.
- Monitor and assist in the resolution of customer and supplier queries by liaising with service departments.
- Reconcile Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger control accounts as well as other reconciliations across the finance department.
- Support the maintenance of Financial systems including the addition of new users and deletion of leavers and daily and monthly processes.
- Support the Finance Business Partners providing day to day management accounting, including posting journals, investigating discrepancies, monthly budget monitoring and attending meetings with budget holders, in order to ensure the financial information within the organisation is timely and accurate and in accordance with legislation.
- Support the Finance Business Partners to provide financial expertise to influence and support Directorate management teams in their decision making and to highlight business performance improvement opportunities.
- Undertake basic year end closedown tasks in accordance with the year end timetable.
- Support the Capital Accountant to account for capital transaction and non-current assets in accordance with legislation and maintain the fixed asset registers.
- Support the Accountancy Assistants with the preparation and submission of monthly VAT returns and notifications to tax on properties.
- Support the Accountancy Assistants with basic reconciliations
- Ensure that working procedures are implemented and fully documented at all times and are kept up to date.
- Strive for continuous improvement of processes and procedures operating in an innovative and cost effective manner identifying and actioning efficiencies where appropriate.

**You must have **

Good problem solving skills, communication skills, be able to work under direction, being responsible for your own work and the ability to undertake a broad range of administrative work in a variety of environments. You may occasionally be required to present to stakeholders such as corporate managers.
