**Salary**: £10.50 per hour

**Job Type: **Full Time, Permanent (40 hours per week)
Our client is looking for a skilled lairage operative to work at their abattoir in Sixhills near Melton Mowbray. This is an exciting opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to develop a career in one of the UK’s largest meat processing companies.

This role is ideally suited to individuals with a farming background, working extensively with handling live cattle coming on site and whilst on site.

**Main duties of the role will be:**
- Working with and handling the movement of cattle
- Receive cattle from customers and process accordingly
- Washing and cleaning of holding pens
- Deal with customers and agricultural staff
- Carrying other such duties involved in the processing of livestock
- Adhering to Hygiene, Animal Welfare and Health and Safety policies and procedures
- All training will be provided

Working hours are Monday-Friday, starting at 7.00 a.m. to finish (approx 1.30 - 3.00 p.m.). The rate paid for this position is £10.50 per hour, with a skills bonus applied upon achieving required
skills.
