FINANCE BUSINESS PARTNER - 6 MONTHS - OUTSIDE IR35

Our public sector client requires the expertise of a Qualified Accountant is required to help support in a Finance Business Partner Position.

Qualified AccountantExperience of year end accounting and Financial Instruments.

Looking at 1 day per week working in Edinburgh based offices.

Responsibilities/Main Duties:
As a Finance Business Partner your role is to be the manage the finances in relation to the annual expenditure and subsequent financial assets and liabilities relating to student support. The role carries a high level of autonomy and covers a broad remit including budgeting, stakeholder engagement, technical accounting within a service delivery organisation and the Scottish Government framework.

You will :* Review and reconcile expenditure, including payment runs as they are processed.
- Monthly reporting (including forecasting) and commentary on expenditure and anticipated accountancy adjustments.
- Meeting with a wide range of stakeholders to report back on the position and the forecasts for expenditure and accounting adjustments. Including insightful analysis and ad hoc reporting.
- Annual Accounts and Provisional Outturn production, including associated working papers an narrative disclosures. Followed by audit responses.
- Direct the financial services team members on analysis work and review outputs.

Other Duties will include:

- Deputing for the Head of Finance and Procurement (HoFP) as necessary including attendance at meetings where some challenge of senior officials may be necessary.
- Work with other administrations and departments to share knowledge and review processes and reconcile balances.
- Involvement in improvement of processes within SAAS where these have an impact on student support finances and input into the development of the finance function within SAAS.
- Providing support to the HoFP on agency running costs in instances where the Finance Business Partner (Agency) is on leave.
