Applications are invited for this role, which has a dual purpose: to support the work of the School of Medicine¿s Student Welfare & Support for Studies team and to support the Academic Advisor Scheme. The postholder will contribute to a range of wellbeing support activities in conjunction with other team members, in particular The Director of Wellbeing and School Disability Support Lead. The postholder will help to develop and deliver activities promoting and maintaining wellbeing for all student doctors, in addition to providing wellbeing support meetings for individual student doctors in need of extra support. The role also incorporates a key contribution to the Academic Advisor scheme
- a core element of the curriculum which aims to provide support for students¿ academic progress during the MBChB programme. The role is ideal for someone who has a genuine enthusiasm for working to support students within a higher education setting and has experience of working within a clinical environment. You will need a positive, compassionate, can-do attitude, flexible approach to work, be a creative problem solver, with the ability to deliver high quality work within deadlines and a drive to support our students to achieve the very best possible outcomes. Note that some flexibility regarding hours worked is required, as you will be expected to provide some early evening/ morning appointments, to student doctors who are completing NHS placements and are therefore not able to access office hour appointments. These sessions are planned and booked in advance.
