Why join us
At Sainsbury's, we provide an opportunity for dedicated professionals to join our team as Compliance Technologists, where they will play a crucial role in ensuring the compliance and integrity of our global supply base. As part of our Technical team, you will work closely with suppliers, technologists, and managers to proactively manage due diligence and data collection, ensuring that our products meet Sainsbury's standards and policies. With a focus on sustainability and brand reputation, you will drive the compliance agenda, setting targets, conducting audits, and implementing robust systems of compliance management. Join us and be part of a team that values technical excellence, attention to detail, and impactful decision-making, all while offering a flexible work-life balance and the opportunity to contribute to the success of one of the UK's leading retailers.
What you'll do

Your main focus will be ensuring compliance with relevant Sainsbury's standards and policies, working closely with produce suppliers, technologists, and technical managers. Your role will involve driving the compliance agenda for the category, completing specifications, ensuring accurate artwork, and verifying supplier compliance with Sainsbury's sourcing standards before each season begins. You will also contribute to sustainability targets and support produce technologists and technical managers in meeting these targets. In your role, you will establish and maintain a robust system of compliance management, collating and maintaining accurate product information for all Sainsbury's brand products. You will conduct due diligence activities, including gathering ethical requirements, pesticide information, and certification documentation, as well as visiting packing sites and engaging with growers and the supply base to ensure compliance. Additionally, you will drive effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders, implement and enforce standards, set targets, conduct investigations, manage KPIs, and oversee pesticide management.
Who you are
You are a highly skilled professional with a strong background in compliance management and technical expertise within the food industry. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the proactive management of due diligence and data collection from our global supply-base. With your deep understanding of relevant standards and policies, you work closely with produce suppliers, technologists, and technical managers to ensure compliance with Sainsbury's sourcing standards and specifications. You play a crucial role in driving the compliance agenda, conducting audits, managing supplier relationships, and setting targets to meet our sustainability objectives.
