Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within ENABLE Scotland by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes - whatever they may be

Each person we support has different support needs, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.

ENABLE Scotland creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.

Let us introduce you to **Mark and Jemma, t**wo of the people you could be supporting:
Mark is an older man with Downs Syndrome.
**Mark** loves to watch WWE, Marvel films and old game show programmes. Mark is non-verbal yet is very good at communicating with his support. He likes to play with his staff and will sometimes follow them around with a towel pretending to be a ghost and trying to make them laugh Mark has a great sense of humour and is seeking a fun, bubbly and confident person to support him at home with domestic chores, medication, personal care and general day to day tasks like meal preparation.

Mark shares support with Jemma.
**Jemma** is a very fun-loving and kind woman. She loves to meet new people and will often make new friends quickly with her floods of compliments Jemma and Mark get on well and enjoy one another's company as they have know each other for a long time. Jemma likes to have pamper nights and watching films like Magic Mike. Jemma is very creative and likes to make people smile. Jemma goes out into the community Independently however requires help to manage her domestic housework, medication and personal care.
