The Role:
As the Workboat Skipper, you will have a shared responsibility for the operational delivery of the P66 Terminal Services Contract.
Maintain professional and cordial relationships with the customer’s operational staff.
Tetney Oil Terminal is the storage and pumping facility for the Humber Oil Refinery at South Killingholme and is served from the Tetney Monobuoy.
The Tetney Monobuoy is situated approximately 2 miles south of Spurn Head and is an open roadstead at the entrance to the River Humber on the East Coast of England.

The Scope:
The Tetney Monobuoy is the client’s main crude oil import facility. It consists of a SPM system located at the mouth of the Humber Estuary in a water depth of approximately 20 meters and some 5 miles distant from the shore terminal. The system is a Catenary Anchor Leg Mooring (“CALM”) buoy type with ‘Lazy S’ configuration with 20” subsea hoses. It is an import only facility and has approximately 110 shipping movements a year with a throughput in the region of 9 million cubic meters of crude oil.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

- Work with the Assets Manager to ensure vessels supplied for the scope of work are maintained, serviceable and operational.
- Ensure the safety of the vessel, the lives of all personnel onboard, protection of the marine environment and safeguarding of property.
- Work with Tetney Crewing to ensure suitable qualified personnel capable of carrying performing operations are available as per the scope of work.
- Transport, boarding and disembarkation of persons nominated by the company between shore, the Marine Facility, tanker, or any combination thereof required for routine work and ad hoc transportation nominated by the company.
- Provide Emergency response to fire and oil spills as detailed in the Tetney Oil Spill Contingency Plan, including spraying of Client supplied Approved detergents for oil spill control.
- Support the provision of diving work ensuring that the company can provide dive team are available on a twenty-four (24) call-out and can respond within one (1) hour.

Skills & Experience:

- Minimum RYA Practical Certificate which then needs to be Commercially Endorsed.
- MCA STCW Personal Survival Techniques
- MCA Elementary First Aid
- RYA VHF/SRC Radio Operator
- RYA Professional Practices and Responsibilities
- ENG1

Who are we looking for?
Must have problem solving abilities to address challenges effectively.
A customer service mindset with excellent communication skills.
Able to demonstrate experience in handling of company vessels.
Familiarity with government regulations and procedures related to the maritime industry.
Knowledge of diving operations would be desirable.
Experience of working with oil majors in the regulated oil & gas industry.
Must be fluent in both written and oral English to enable effective communication with client personnel and other users on the river.
- The role will operate on a week on week off basis, when on duty you will need to be within a 20-minute commute to Grimsby therefore applicants will ideally live locally.
