**CONTRACT TYPE**:Permanent/Part time

**HOURS**:6 hours

**WORK PATTERN**:
Alternate Sundays (12 - 3pm/ 4pm - 7pm)

All hours will be face-to-face delivery with young people and will include a weekend shift.

**Who we are looking for**:
**Knowledge and Understanding**

Have a trampolining background of at least one year and understand the safety requirements of the sport

Knowledge of the issues affecting young people and an ability to work with challenging behaviour

Understanding of the principles of working with children and young people

Knowledge of health and safety, diversity awareness and safeguarding best practice and how these relate to children and young people

Delivery of activities within an equality framework

**Qualifications**

Trampolining relevant qualification at a minimum level 2

At least 1 year’s trampolining experience.

A coaching qualification level 2 or higher.

**What will you need to succeed**:
Trampolining background as a competitor or recreational -Essential

Experience in creating an attractive trampolining programme for children and young people - Essential

Experience in coaching children or young people for a minimum of one year - Essential

In depth knowledge of health and safety requirements related to trampolining coaching
- Essential

Experience working in a team and with volunteers and motivating them - Essential

Experience of supporting young people who are disaffected, underachieving and / or have social / emotional barriers to participation - Desirable

Experience of working in an outreach or detached setting and residential - Desirable

Experience providing information, advice, guidance and support to young people - Desirable

Experience of dealing with safeguarding issues within a multi-agency setting - Desirable

**What you will be doing**

Deliver trampolining coaching sessions to children and young people

Design a trampolining programme that will positively engage children and young people

Demonstrate good coaching practice and provide motivation to young people

Do the necessary preparations before the sessions and liaise with other coaches if needed

Ensure that all necessary health and safety checks have been completed prior to session

Take the necessary action is there is a breach of rules and notify line manager at the earliest opportunity

Support young people to take steps towards achieving personal goals

Support the development of positive relationship with the young people, their parents and carers

To support and empower young people to engage in positive activities of their choice

To directly deliver a high quality programme that is exciting, safe, innovative and developmental and directly responds to the diverse needs, concerns and interest of the members.

Positively influence the general programme of events at the Youth Zone so it is attractive to young people from diverse backgrounds and abilities.

To ensure the participation of young people in activities that their ideas contribute fully in the delivery and evaluation of activites.
