Slinger Signaller

CHAP Group are currently looing for a Slinger / Signaller to direct the movement and loading/unloading of materials on site aiding the Crane Driver & Forklift.

**Responsibilities**:

- Clear signals for directing the movement and loading/unloading of vehicles
- Clear signals for directing the movement of mobile plant
- Clear and accepted signals for moving a load.
- Understanding the effects of load size, weight, gradients and ground conditions upon machine stability
- Know how to calculate weights and sizes of loads and how to inform the plant operator of these findings.
- How to select, use and maintain the appropriate lifting accessories for a job,
- Use practical techniques and agreed systems of signalling to assist drivers and operatives on site in all manoeuvres
- Ensuring safe, on-site traffic systems
- Carrying out general labouring duties on site

**Qualifications & Competencies**:

- NPORS or CPCS Slinger Signaller qualification
- Previous experience of working as a Slinger/Signaller
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Flexible approach to work
- Basic awareness of health and safety issues and a duty of care towards colleagues
- Ability to work unsupervised and act on own initiative when faced with minor problems
