Working with one of the UK's leading automotive manufacturers, this is an exciting opportunity for a Interiors Engineer to work on a variety of prototype vehicles including Electric/Hybrid and Autonomous Vehicle projects.
As Engineer in Cockpit & Interior Design & Development, you will be part of a team of engineers to who develop best-in class Interiors for our future customers. We are looking for engineers to work on future projects where you will be involved with cross-functionalteams in the development of new full model Interiors from early Concept phase to Production, as well as work on current Life Cycle projects. In these roles will be responsible to lead the development of Cockpit &/or Interior Components from Quality/Cost/Deliverypoint of view.
- Job Duration - 12 months rolling contract
- Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm, Fri 8am-1.20pm
- Hybrid working - typically 3 days/week on site in Cranfield
- Pay Rate: £24.97/hour PAYE and £3.75/hr holiday and £0.75 pension accrual
- Basic salary equivalent £50,639 plus 26 days holiday (+ 8 BH)
Deliverables and KPIs
- Preparation of parts development schedules, ensuring company Standards are met, analyzing technical and cost data, leading concern investigations, managing suppliers and communicating cross-functionally with other Design sections and other functions.
- Be at the core of company R&D in Europe with the opportunity to work with Styling, Vehicle Layout & Test in Europe & Japan to shape the future of our European Products.
- Global Design and Development at part / module level
- Supplier management (cost / quality and timing)
- Meeting regulation & safety performance
- Managing and reporting test validation
- Managing and reporting cost performance
Qualifications/Skills Required:

- Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent.
- Ability to work with and lead cross functional teams.
- Experience of investigating and solving both development and post production launch phase concerns.
- Project Engineer / Project management experience i.e. demonstrable ability to plan, manage and deliver technical & administrative tasks on-time.
- Automotive experienced and have good understanding of vehicle systems / functions.
