My client's Knowledge Team comprises three strands - the Knowledge Development Lawyers (KDLs), Innovation Technology and the Research & Information Services team. The Innovation Technology team currently comprises this role, the Innovation Technology Lead and two other Innovation Technologists.

The person in this role will have responsibility for coding documents within the firm’s precedent bank. Some key documents have already been automated across various practice areas. It is essential that the person in this role takes a hands on approach with coding and is able to inspire confidence across a wide range of stakeholders in order to take forward document automation within the firm.

**Role and Responsibilities (this is a broad but not exhaustive list)**:

- Automate key precedent documents and work collaboratively with the Innovation Technology Lead and key stakeholders to identify an appropriate pipeline of work which will represent the best ROI
- Review and maintain our existing portfolio of automated documents, as well as grow usage and help embed change management, best practice and governance, identifying clear processes for key areas of focus
- A strong and enthusiastic advocate for the use of Innovation Technology capable of developing clear process for the introduction and embedding of new technologies
- Manage projects and tasks in direct response to business needs within the firm
- Work collaboratively with our lawyers and document specialists to develop a deep understanding of existing processes in order to achieve the role objectives and to advise and assist with the implementation of new Innovation Technology software
- Promote and manage the use of our existing Innovation Technology to our lawyers and encouraging innovative uses and assist with the identification of requirements for new solutions
- Work collaboratively with Learning & Development and the Innovation Technology Lead to develop training for Innovation Technology for lawyers and others in the firm
- Work collaboratively with IT to develop practical solutions for internal (and client facing) business issues
- Act as first line contact for users should they need assistance with technology queries

**Qualifications and Experience**

**Essential**:

- A clear aptitude for working with new and emerging technologies
- Any experience of document checking tools
- An interest in legal tech and automation
- Strong communication skills
- Strong planning and organising skills

**Desirable**:

- Extensive experience with Contract Express and coding and knowledge of HighQ
- Knowledge of AI (Luminance or Kira) an advantage
- Previous experience in a legal or innovation technology role within a law firm
- Contract companion experience (e.g. Definely or Litera)

Note - Hybrid working means that you will work 3 days a week in the office, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
